There are lots of 'alternative' Valentine's Day events on this year.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about splashing out on an expensive meal — there are all sorts of alternative things to do in Bermuda this year.

Whether it’s a night of  heartfelt poetry, listening to live music over lunch or dancing the night away, it seems the island is getting creative with romance.

They say that a shared sense of humour is the secret to a successful relationship, perhaps dinner and comedy with Nadanja and Def Comedy funnyman Frantz Casseus could be the recipe for romance.

Or why not go for something completely different and head out to sea on a Valentine’s whale watching trip?
