Smash Hit is one of the featured games in the Apple App Store. The object of the free game is to see how far you can go through a futuristic building as you seemingly float through space. You play the game from the first-person view.

Design-wise, it is appealing and Today’s iPhone declared it “possibly the most beautiful iOS Game ever”.

You have no control over how fast or slow you can go and you have to unlock round doors by throwing metal balls at buttons next to the portal.

As you move through the building, there are slender crystal pyramids that you can throw a ball at to shatter and earn three balls. After the first few worlds there are crystal diamonds which are worth five balls.

If you can hit 10 pyramids or diamonds in a row, you will get a multi-ball throw.

This is important as two balls (which only count as one from your supply) are more likely to hit a target.

The further you progress through the building, there are glass objects that you have to shatter as they impede your path.

Any time you hit one of the glass objects or fail to unlock a door, you lose 10 balls.

If you pay for the premium version of the game ($1.99), you won’t have to start over at the beginning when you run out of balls but instead can restart from the last checkpoint you passed.

That’s key if you want to make it through all 11 worlds and don’t have the skill to make it without saving at the checkpoints.

Each world provides a different challenge. Whereas the first few you face straight on and can time the trajectory of your balls in a normal matter, in latter worlds the objects you are trying to hit start rotating and the angles you need to hit them at are constantly changing.

The game should be in the top 10 games on the iTunes charts soon.
