An eye-catching vintage car has arrived in Bermuda, and it has already begun to turn heads.

The luxurious Branford Elite has been brought on to the island for weddings and special tours.

The gleaming machine made its maiden trip at the weekend taking newly weds Ben Beasley and Kirsten Faria from the church to their wedding reception.

The hand-built, vintage car has been imported by Liz Mayne and Roberta Pachai, who run the company Bermudaful Moments.

It was built from scratch by a firm called AWS in Cheshire in England, and arrived on board the Oleander just over week ago.

Ms Mayne told the Bermuda Sun: “We were able to get it through TCD on Thursday just in time for Ben and Kirsten’s wedding on Saturday.

“We had hoped originally to have it here last month but there were a few delays along the way.

“The reaction the car has received so far on the roads has been just incredible.

“Just driving it down Front Street I’m sure people got whiplash from looking at it.”

The Branford Elite has been designed specifically to look like the traditional classic T Ford model.

Ms Mayne added: “We felt there was a real niche in the market for something like this in Bermuda

“It’s a specialty car that can be used for weddings, but also other events and tours.

“We are looking to bring in a second one of these vintage machines in the future but that will depend on how this venture goes.

“If the initial reaction and attention is anything to go by we could be bringing in the second one sooner rather than later.”

Mr Beasley and Ms Faria were driven in the Branford Elite from the Wesley Methodist Church in Hamilton to their reception at Elbow Beach.

The reception, which was organised by Bermuda Event Solutions, took place at Lido’s on Saturday.

Wedding planner Emily Boden said: “The car really did cause quite a stir when it arrived at the church.

“It looked amazing and there were lots of oohhs and ahhhs as the couple were driven away.

“The car added a very special touch to the whole occasion.”
