One of my new followers on Twitter this week was @SeaExpressApp. The Marine and Ports division is pushing its app through social media.

I went to the iTunes stores to download it. I was a bit surprised it cost $1.99, but purchased it to give it a test spin.

The home page shows a photo of the Serenity ferry. When you go to the schedule page it lists the current day for and a few taps later you can see what time the ferry leaves on the various routes.

Other options include ticket prices and maps of the various routes.

It’s a very basic no-frills app, but it gets the job done in laying out the info anyone would need to find out when and where the ferry travels.

It could be very handy for tourists.

The app was developed by technology firm Maven 2.0, a company owned by Bermudian Ralph Richardson, who is based out of Riverside, California.
