If you want to get into the festive spirit St George’s is hosting the annual Bermuda National Trust Christmas Walkabout tonight.

There will be entertainment throughout the old town and you will have the chance to visit some of the oldest continually occupied buildings in the New World.

All the old properties will be decorated and candlelit including the Old Rectory, Samaritans’ Lodge, Buckingham, Tucker House and the Globe Hotel. Santa will be in town and children can make Christmas crafts at the Edith Claire Spencer Hall.

King’s Square will showcase the Jackson School of Performing Arts, In Motion, Dancesations, Bermuda School of Music Suzuki Group and the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band.

In support of St Peter’s Church food drive, the public is encouraged to drop off canned and non-perishable goods at Penno’s Wharf just after you park.

The walk takes place from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Christmas boat parade

Traffic rules and alterations will be in place during the Christmas Boat Parade on Saturday evening from 6pm to 9pm.

There will be one-way traffic on Harbour Road, between Manse Road and Stowe Hill travelling in an easterly direction and The Lane, between Stowe Hill and North Roundabout in an easterly direction.

Parking will be permitted on the north side of Harbour Road between Manse Road and Lovers Lane but not be on Manse Road (either side), on Chapel Road (either side) or Cavendish Road (either side).

Parking of vehicles on sidewalks is prohibited.

Police officers will ticket or have removed any vehicle found to be blocking the roadway or flow of traffic.
