Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.

This scripture verse mentions the two extremes of existence. There is the beginning and there is the end.

What is not mentioned is the time period, which actually is the living period, or “the in-between”.

So much goes on between the beginning and the end.

This verse speaks to faith; that is, it speaks to that which is not seen or known. It causes the reader to depend upon the God of this verse and where faith is born and developed.

Your in-between time will always test your relationship with God. Life can be very challenging.

Life will present you with moments, and unless you know God and believe in His Sovereignty, that in-between time of testing can bring about extensive doubt and despair.

Given up

The people in Nehemiah’s day were stuck. They were currently in that in-between place. Sadly, they were without hope. They had given up, and seemingly there was no end in view.

Nehemiah 1:3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

It was at that point that Nehemiah emerged on the scene. God sent in His prophet, who was actually able to see things that the Israelites had not been able to see. Nehemiah could see the end. He was not stuck in that current situation of devastation.

Nehemiah 2:8 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

The responsibility of every prophet is to speak the mind of God, which will always be towards building His people.

Even when the people of God rebel and do their own thing, God will yet be there to welcome His people through reconciliation.

While the people were going nowhere, God looked upon their situation and sent in Nehemiah to take them through to their end.

That is the pattern of our God. You may find yourself at your worst place and your worst state ever. Yet, if you have an ear to hear, you will be in the place to receive from your “Nehemiah”.

God will send a messenger to give you His direction on what you should do next. God’s messenger or servant will also have, in his or her mouth, the instructions that will get you out of your in-between state and get you to your end state.

God knows what your end shall be. Yield to God’s instructions. Do not rebel and lose out on all that God has for you. It is not too late. You can begin on the road to destiny that God has prepared for you today.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Get out of your stuck place and move to your place of God’s perfect will.

Respice finem.
