From church styles to gala attire, there are some stylish granmas and grandpas out there showing some of the younger folks what it truly means to look sharp.

Bermuda Sun’s style guru Trikeita Leshaé chats with the family of our monthly GlamMa and GlamPa. Here, we take a look at GlamMa Rita P Smith and her vintage-inspired wardrobe.

Introducing: Rita P Smith, our first Bermuda Sun GlamMa.

Rita is a doting mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday!

Imagine seeing the fashions evolve over an entire century in Bermuda! The sights, good and bad, she must have seen!

Vintage

You see, GlamMa Rita is a fashion connoisseur of epic Bermudian proportions.

She is most often seen in vintage pieces from Trimingham’s, Cecile’s and Calypso that are in mint condition. Original Polly Hornburg pieces –– a girl can dream, right?

Mink collars are essential for dinner dressing and according to her granddaughter Heidi, “She is never without a hat and her purse.”

Really, what’s better than a fashionable GlamMa whose closet you can raid?

Cheers to you, GlamMa Rita: apparently the streets have been watching.
