FRIDAY, JAN. 12: The Bermuda Broadcasting Company and World on Wireless (WOW) have joined forces to ensure channels seven and nine are available once again to all viewers.

BBC has been off the air to viewers who not have cable since lightning damaged transmitters several weeks ago.

WOW will deliver ZBM channel nine and ZFB channel seven via UHF digital transmission free to those homes without any form of subscription cable service.

BBC CEO Rick Richardson said:  “Our engineers have been working over the past two weeks to locate and repair all faults within the transmitter and antenna system.

“They have resolved the problems with one station, but all signals must be shut down to allow workers access to the tower to effect additional checks and repairs.

“We are pleased to have WOW as a media partner to deliver our signals at this time.

“We obviously value all of our viewers and appreciate their wish to view our networks.”

WOW president Stanley Wright said: “We at WOW will create a special tier to carry the BBC channels free to those homes without any form of cable service.

“Under the plan, persons can immediately contact the WOW offices to receive the free over the air feeds for the next three months.

“The special tier will also include a feed of the weather channel.”

The number to call for the installation of a UHF antenna and receiver is 292-1969
