Dear Sir, I am undertaking some research into the life and works of Ronald Hammett, a south east London builder who had a passion for miniature railways. In 1964 ill-health ãforced himä to retire to Bermuda where he set up house at Devonshire Point.

During his time in Bermuda he built a miniature railway around his house using locomotives he had bought from the U.K. and was also involved with a plan to build a railway in the dockyard.

Could I, through you, ask that if anyone has memories or photographs of Ron, who died in March 1987, or his railway or the dockyard project, could they contact me at, or drop me a line at 1 Millers Court, Borstal Hill, Whitstable, Kent CT5 4QB, England. It would be nice to include something in my proposed book about his life after he left the U.K. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Derek Smith
