Life in a band isn't all about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. A little charity has its role too.

A group of local musicians performed two benefit gigs that raised $6,000 for the victims of Haiti's earthquake. Both were held at Docksiders, last Friday and the Friday before, and were organised by Mohawk Radio, Bones and The Narrows.

Bands to play were Bones, The Narrows, Harrington Sounds, KASE and Joy Barnum and The Channel. One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the events went towards the cause.
