A 26-foot boat caught fire in St. George's Harbour on Wednesday night. Police, fire and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene to rend assistance. One man was injured and required treatment.

The Bermuda Police Service said the boat caught fire around 6:47pm last night after refuelling at Dowling's Marine. When the owner of the boat went to start it, a snafu occurred and it quickly was engulfed in flames.

Things could have been worse, but a quick thinking jet skier towed the boat out to the harbour to avoid it causing anything at the petrol marina to catch on fire.

The owner of the boat was treated first at the scene, but was later taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
