Police search TV station
Search linked to leaked housing report
Byline info is not available
Monday, June 4, 2007 2:11 PM
Police searched the offices of TV station ZBM Monday.
The Bermuda Sun understands officers presented a search warrant shortly after 2pm. The station's lawyers appealed to Chief Justice Richard Ground for an injunction, which was refused.
The Police left Bermuda Broadcasting empty-handed shortly after 7pm.
We understand the activity is linked to the leaking of a confidential police file about an investigation into alleged corruption at the Bermuda Housing Corporation four years ago that mentioned Government MPs, including Premier Ewart Brown. No prosecutions were brought against any senior figures in the governing party.
Police have refused to comment.
