MONDAY, DECEMBER 17: The PLP’s Lovitta Foggo last night held off her OBA challenger in St David’s despite a night of shocks in the East End of the island.

Ms Foggo won 511 votes compared to a total of 384 for Gaylynne Cannonier of the OBA.

Ms Foggo took 57 per cent of the votes against 42.9 per cent for Ms Cannonier.

The sitting MP took 572 votes in 2007, compared to 482 for the then-UBP’s Suzann Roberts-Holshouser in 2007.

Dame Jennifer Smith, a former Premier who led her party to its first victory in 1998, lost her nearby St George’s North seat to challenger Kenneth Bascome, the Mayor of St George’s.
