Singer Joy T. Barnum held a concert at the Unfinished church this week to help to promote her upcoming album Negroes Spiritual.

During the exclusive concert on Tuesday evening, Ms Barnum sang songs from the album, which is inspired by the sounds of African-American gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. It is the first of a series of concerts by Ms Barnum on National Trust properties. The Trust has allowed Ms Barnum to perform for free at its venues ahead of the singer’s tour with Heather Nova. The album will be released in music stores around the island in time for Christmas.

Ms Barnum will be doing an easter tour in churches around the island to promote the album.
