FRIDAY, MARCH 30 UPDATE: Collie Buddz says his new radio station Vibe 103.3 will be like no other in Bermuda.

Speaking to the Bermuda Sun he said: “Vibe 103 will only be about hit music from all genres played 24/7 automated and by live DJs and that’s what makes us fresh to Bermuda. Whether it’s a current hit song or a future hit song, we’ll be playing it,” he said.

Buddz (aka Colin Harper) also said he is keen to support local artists and musicians through the station.

“We are always looking for local talent and music,” he said. “We are just starting so we are in the process of building up our playlist of local talent. They can send their music to talent@vibe103.com.”

The new radio station launches today at 6am with “The Morning Rush” featuring Bermuda’s DJ Chubb and DJ Keem.

Buddz’ brother Matthew Harper, also known as DJ Smokey, is programme director and DJ for Vibe.

The immediate team at the station includes Chris Bennett as IT and web/media designer, DJ Smokey (3pm to 7pm weekdays), DJ Chubb and DJ Keem (6am   to 11am weekdays). There are a few other DJs who are preparing for their debuts to the station.

In terms of other staff members he said: “We get a lot of help from family and friends, there are too many to name all of them but they know who they are, so much love and thanks to everyone.”

Asked if it had always been an aspiration of his to launch his own radio station he said: “Yes. Yes, it has.”

Vibe will include its Inside Edition, a daily news magazine offering listeners a mix of hard-hitting investigations, newsmaker interviews and human interest stories as well as celebrity and pop culture. ET Radio Minute features the latest entertainment news highlights including inside information and breaking stories from the world of movies, US TV, music and fashion.

There will also be Doctor’s Orders for medical practitioners with four different specialities – they give you their orders without any fees. Sky Sports News is also featured.
