The Bermuda Sun’s two-day social media summit is almost sold out according to the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, which is putting on “Making Social Media Work for Your Business” in partnership with the Sun.

The number of registrants thus far means the Chamber’s meeting space in Hamilton will be filled to capacity when conference events take place there on Thursday and Friday afternoon of this week. No further registration is allowed for those sessions.

However sessions held at HSBC Habourview on Friday morning are still open for registration because the meeting space at the Hamilton bank is larger.

“I wish we didn’t have to turn anyone away, but we didn’t anticipate a response as strong as what we’ve seen,” said Glenn Jones, general manager of MediaHouse, Bermuda Sun’s parent company.

Registration for the Friday morning session is available at the Chamber of Commerce website at a cost of $50. The morning session includes a keynote presentation from Jackie Guzman. She will tackle the central theme of the conference: turning followers into dollars. Ms Guzman is a vice president at Tilson PR in Florida where she manages the social media reputations of some major American brands.

CellOne will also offer a workshop Friday morning to teach attendees how to sharpen their social media skills.

Meantime, late Tuesday, event organizers released the conference program exclusively to the Bermuda Sun. The program will be distributed electronically to registrants of the conference.
