SUNDAY, JULY 15: A team of police officers and staff today completed a marathon million metre row for charity.

The ten-strong team rowed a million metres - more than 620 miles - to raise cash for the Sandys 360 youth development fund.

A police spokesman said: "It all went very well and the team are all fine, but very tired.

"They're happy to have completed the distance and they've been able to raise some funds for a good cause."

The event took place at the Sandys 360 sports centre as part of the police community outreach programme.

The team was made up of Sergeant Derek Berry, Sergeant Kevin Christopher, Detective Constable Sylvester Augustine, PC Cerepha Bridgeman, PC MIchael Charlton, Detective Constable Tim Harvey, Teena Tyrell, PC Latovia Brunson, Station Duty Officer Vernagine Simmons and PC Tiffani DeSilva.
