WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13: Dr. Ewart Brown said the Uyghurs have found employment since being made redundant at Port Royal Golf Course.

The Premier said: “The Government of Bermuda has been diligently working to address the redundancy of the Uyghurs since they received notice of their termination. We are pleased to announce that the Uyghurs have secured employment in the private sector.  Since the employment is in the private sector we shall not release the name of the employer.”

In July 2009, the four men were released from the US detention centre at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba in and resettled in Bermuda and were employed at the Government owned golf course soon after their arrival.
