FRIDAY, AUGUST 12: The Bermuda Society of Interior Designers (BSID) has awarded five students $16,000 in scholarships.

The BSID launched its Scholarship Fund in 1992 to help young Bermudians reach their goals in the interior design profession.

Jill Henneberger of the BSID said: “The current economic climate, combined with a increased number of applications this year, inspired the selection committee to award five deserving students with a bursary of $3,000 each.”

The recipients are: Chakeya Ottley, a student at the New York School of Interior Design, US; Brittany Marquardt, a student at Southampton Solent University, UK; Chanika Jones, who is attending the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, US; Kimberly Fraser, a student of Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia, US; and Sarah Perry, who attends the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, US.

Ms Henneberger added: “The BSID is very grateful to AF Smith, who annually contributes a special award alongside our efforts.

Education
