WITH MORE than 100 teenage pregnancies in Bermuda every year, a local group will hold a discussion with teenaged males this weekend in a bid to prevent so many pregnancies from happening.

The workshop, organized by the March of Dimes USA and Epsilon Theta, the local chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, will focus on sexuality and the education of males between the ages of 12 to 15 about the realities of teen pregnancy.

The March of Dimes, founded in 1938, works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.

Teens will also hear about the social, economic and personal consequences that come with fathering a child.

The workshop takes place at Bermuda College beginning at 10am tomorrow.
