North Village face a test of resolve in the FA Cup final on Sunday after their Digicel Premier Division final-day surrender.

The Rams lost to Wolves 2-1 knowing a win was paramount to put pressure on leaders Dandy Town.

Village’s defeat was rendered immaterial by champions Hornets’ 7-2 win over Cougars.

But now the league’s top two teams face off for the island’s top cup competition at the National Sports Centre, 4pm kick-off.

And Rams president Stephen Coddington believes manager Ralph Bean Jr deserves credit for a good season regardless of the result on Sunday.

“First-year coach Raph Bean Junior has done really well to get these guys together,” he told the Sun.

“He’s basically their age, which can be a difficulty when you are coaching people that are your peers. So there could have been friction but I think he’s managed that well.

“The system they play is the same one that was introduced when [manager] Shaun Goater first came back from abroad and we still employ that but of course every team has each coach’s fingerprints on it and Ralph has done really well.”

Meanwhile, Bermuda’s Nahki Wells has been named Huddersfield Town’s player of the month for March. Wells and the Terriers take on Bolton tomorrow, kick-off 11am.
