Aaron Evans, running for the University of Georgia, smashed his own Bermuda record in the 800 metres.

The runner took first at a meet in Greensboro with a time of 1:46.26. He had established the old record just two weeks ago with a time of 1:47.00, breaking
Steve Burgess mark which had stood for 25 years.

Evans' time is now the fastest in the U.S. for a college student and he is qualified to participate at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon from June 9 to 12.
