TUESDAY, MARCH 6: Could lightning strike again for Bermuda’s college track stars?

Three of the island’s most promising athletes have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Clemson University’s Jasmine Brunson, Stanford University’s Arantxa King and University of Georgia’s Aaron Evans will all be attending the Championships because they are one of the top 16 college athletes in their discipline in the US.

Brunson is ranked fourth in the triple; King fifth in the long jump; and Evans ninth in the 800m.

Two years ago, King and Evans had spectacular performances in the NCAA Outdoor Championships with Evans winning bronze in the 800m in a time of 1:46.87 and King taking second in the long jump with a leap of 6.57m.

King is a former world champion in the triple jump.

The Indoor Championships are slated for this Friday and Saturday at the Idaho Centre Arena in Boise.

The NCAA Championships will be streamed live by ESPN3 both nights.
