Rosewood Tucker’s Point in Bermuda is thrilled to welcome Gavin Manders to the team as Head Tennis Professional. In his new role, Manders will be in charge of implementing and executing tennis programs and events for the members and guests of the resort. He will also teach private lessons and clinics, along with assistance from Tennis Instructor, LaVern Stowe.

“I’d like to extend a big thank you to Rosewood Tucker’s Point for giving me the opportunity to continue my career here doing something that I have a deep passion for, says Manders. It’s a great opportunity for me at this point in my life, and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm and experience with the members and guests,” he added.

Manders plans to use his experience and love of the sport to make Rosewood Tucker’s Point one of the premiere tennis clubs on the island. He looks forward to creating a new buzz at the facility and using his international experience from around the world to create a unique and exciting environment here at the resort.

An avid tennis player for over 23 years, Manders also has 10 years of coaching experience and three years of tennis academy training under his belt. He was ranked as the number one player in every age group in Bermuda, and was also ranked #2 in South Carolina U16. In 2004, he was awarded a scholarship to play for Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL.

For the past five years, Manders has held the number one ranking in Bermuda and represented the island for six years of the Davis Cup. He holds coaching certifications from the United States Professional Tennis Association, Professional Tennis Registry, Under 10 Junior Development and Bermuda Pro Registry member. Additional past experience includes Sportsman¹s Tennis and Enrichment Center where he served as Assistant Pro, Tournament training coach and led a program for juniors preparing for USTA tournament play.

Manders has also worked at the Temple of Tennis (Port Royal Tennis Club) as a member of their executive committee, community clinic volunteer and advanced training coach.
