Bermudian striker Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield side went down 1-0 to Bolton this afternoon to a cruel extra time winner.

The terriers had much the better of the match, but it was Bolton who clinched the points with a 91st minute strike by Joe Mason.

It looked like the two sides, who were separated by just a couple of places before the game, would share the spoils as the game drifted into extra time at 0-0.

But with just a few minutes to play Mason popped up in the centre of the box after a corner and right footed the ball home.

It was a heartbreaking result for the Wells and the home side and sends Huddersfield down to 17th place in the Championship.
