Last week’s photo...
Last week’s archive photo was joyfully noticed by the relatives of two of the men featured.
Larry Dunlop called in after he recognized his father, Frederick Jennings, as the man in the centre of the photo holding a bottle.
We also had another, unidentified caller who left a message saying that her Grandpa Vernon Simons was in the photo.
However, she left no phone number so I don’t know which gentlemen she was referring to.
The location and occasion in the photo remain a mystery.
Apology
“The reports of my death were…”
I must also issue a correction and apology for a mistake in last week’s article regarding our archive photo in the April 25 edition.
From the information I had been given, I assumed that Kirwan Brangman was deceased.
However, thanks to his sister Vernette Dorian, Gerald Bean, Leo Mills and Mr. Kirwan Brangman himself, I can confirm that he is “very much alive”, to use Mr. Brangman’s own words. I apologize for the error.
Please continue to call and e-mail information regarding our ‘Back in the Day” photos, and if you leave a telephone message, please include your phone number so I can get back to you.
