Are you an aspiring model or know someone who is?
Do you have what it takes to strut your stuff on the runway in front of hundreds of people?
Your time could be now thanks to the upcoming model call for the Evolution Fashion Show.
The model calls will be held April 13 and 14 at JaKoMa from 11am to 3pm, April 15 at Whitney Institute from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and April 16 at Warwick Academy from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Danilee Trott, events organizer for the Corporation of Hamilton, said she is looking for child models from the age of three,
ladies, men and fuller figure ladies.
Children will be required to audition without their parent/guardian immediately present to exhibit the ability to take instruction without parental support.
“The auditions are open call, therefore anyone can show up. Last year we had 321 persons audition, so we expect between 400 and 500 this year over the four- day period.”
Ms Trott said 30 girls, 20 boys, 30 men and 100 women are needed for the event.
“It should be noted that teenagers will be classified as adult or child models according to how they look, not age. Therefore a mature looking or tall 14-year-old may be classed as an adult while a shorter or younger faced looking 15-year-old may be classified as a child.
“All models are asked to have photos and measurements taken as well as to demonstrate a runway walk for a panel of judges.
“We also look for models who are ‘swimsuit models’ and ask that they bring along a bathing suit/trunks for that purpose.”
Asked why people should audition, Ms Trott said: “The City Fashion Festival will be providing models with a variety of amazing local and international opportunities.
“Some local stores will offer modelling jobs to selected models and in addition we have Elite Model Management London coming to Bermuda to scout for talent.
“The two directors and lead scout will attend a variety of rehearsals and all four shows in order to find new faces for Elite which will be totally at their discretion.
“Finally we have editors of six well known fashion publications arriving to mentor our local designers and one or two may offer photo shoots and international exposure if the right model graces the runway.
She continued: “In addition to aspiring models having the opportunities for major exposure, it gives the models a boost in self-confidence.
“We provide a four-day Boot Camp, eight weeks of rehearsals, a professional workshop and the chance to work for up to four international standard shows.
“For models that may not even be pursuing the fashion industry, it is also a great opportunity for young people to improve their time-keeping, take responsibility for themselves and learn the basics about presenting themselves in a professional manner.”
The City Fashion Festival takes placed from July 1 to 6 and will feature events including Mannequin Mondays, Hair and Beauty Showcase, designer showcases and finally, the Evolution Fashion show.
