WEDNESDAY, MAR. 28: People from All walks of life came out to see the island’s first ever Beach Art Festival organized by Nicky Gurret. Judge Lynne Match chose a piece by Bermuda Institute teenagers Jade Robinson and Kristlyn Lambert as the winner. There were events on beaches across the island and included yoga classes by Kerri Howard and paddleboarding by Glenn Mello. Gurret is also the organizer of the popular annual sand sculpture competition on Horseshoe Bay. She said of the Beach Art Festival: “The event turned out to be very wonderful especially on Horeshshoe Bay. The competition could not have taken place without our main sponsor The Alliance Francaise des Bermudes, Smatts Cycle ltd and Butterfield and Vallis.”
