BIOS Marine Science Day this weekend
The Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science is hosting its annual Marine Science Day this Saturday.
There will be live demonstrations on climate change and ocean acidification, local air and fresh-water quality and the impact of pollution, coral reef, fisheries and marine protected areas and diverse open-ocean plants that produce half of our oxygen.
There will be the usual highlights throughout the day including wacky science demonstrations, plankton tows aboard a BIOS research vessel and a BIOS magical mystery tour puppet show and fishy business arts and crafts.
Visitors can also explore Ferry Reach with BIOS’s remotely operated vehicle, see and touch live corals, decorator crabs, sea urchins and other marine life whlie an expert scientist will be on hand to answer questions from any inquiring minds.
The event takes place from 11am to 4pm this Saturday at BIOS, Ferry Reach, St.George’s. Entrance is free.
