Exciting finish likely as Grand Slam players vie for the lead
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24: Webb Simpson turned the heat on leader Padraig Harrington at the turn of the final round of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf today.
Simpson notched up four birdies on the first eight holes to go six under for the tournament at Port Royal Golf Course, one behind Harrington who was still in fine form after his 66 yesterday. The Irishman added two birdies – and crucially no bogeys - to his overnight effort in a tidy front nine and remained on course to win the event for the first time in his career.
Reigning Masters champion Bubba Watson was far from out of it, though, as he moved from his first round three under to sit two off Harrington at five under.
Keegan Bradley was still trailing the top three but, after a disappointing 72 yesterday, he was two under for the day and one under for the tournament. The defending champion, however, surely has too much to do to reclaim his title.
