Holiday trash, recycling and Christmas tree collection (Update)

THURSDAY, JAN. 5 UPDATE: The Ministry of Public Works advises the public of the operational days of waste management facilities and residential waste collection services during the festive season.  In order to avoid disappointment, please note the following times of operation: 

Christmas Residential Waste Collection:

West end: Wednesday, December 28th and Friday, December 30th. 

East end: Thursday, December 29th, and Saturday, December 31st.

Christmas Recycling Collection:

West end: Thursday December 22nd.

East end: Friday December 23rd.

New Years Waste Collection:

West end: Tuesday, January 3rd, and Thursday , January 5th. 

East end: Wednesday, January 4th and Friday, January 6th.

New Years Recycling Collection:

West end: Thursday, January 5th

East end: Friday, January 6th

Christmas Tree Collection

East end:  Wednesday, January 18th

West end: Wednesday, January 25th

As all trees are composted, please remove all tinsel, lights, ornaments and tree bags.  For more information go to: www.wastemanagement.gov.bm, email [email protected], or call 292-1517.

THURSDAY, JAN. 5: The City of Hamilton today announced that Christmas trees will be collected in the City during the week of January 9.

A City of Hamilton spokesperson stated, “Christmas trees must be set out during regular garbage collection times. The trees should not be placed in plastic bags and all ornaments and decorations must be removed.”
