THURSDAY, JUNE 7: It’s time to get your high heels on, girls and boys, as the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trusts is preparing to host its third annual Pump It Up fundraiser.
The event features 12 members of the community, including the Bermuda Sun’s own Don Burgess, who are paired in the spirit of friendly competition to raise the most funds for BHCT.
The winner of each pairing will be announced on the night of the event — Wednesday, July 4 during Harbour Nights on Front Street and they will watch as their opponent, male or female, walks the runway in high heels.
This year’s participants are Wendy Augustus, BHCT executive director; Jon Bear, Saltus Alumni Relations; Jonathan Brewin, BHCT trustee; Don Burgess, Bermuda Sun deputy editor; delMonte Davis, LCCA and the Royal Gazette; Power Girl, Power 95 DJ; Brendan Huttick, Lemon Tree; Alfred Maybury, Somerset Cricket Club president; Neil Paynter, St George’s Cricket Club president; Sen Diallo Rabain; Nikita Robinson, Hott DJ; Venetta Symonds, Bermuda Hospitals Board CEO.
For anyone wanting to see a particular candidate walk in heels, BHCT suggests that pledges be made towards their competitor. The public can pledge towards their favourite person or their opponent online at the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust’s website www.bhct.bm/pumpitup, or by calling 298-0153.
Visit the Pump It Up booth at Harbour Nights on Wednesday June 27th and Wednesday July 4th to donate as well.
The winners will be announced on stage at 8:30pm during Harbor Nights immediately following the Hair and Beauty Showcase, brought to you in partnership with the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce & the Corporation of Hamilton. Pump It Up will be another opportunity to promote healthcare while raising money for the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust. For more information please visit www.bhct.bm
