SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1: Michael Jordan may be the greatest basketball player of all time, but his failure to wear Bermuda shorts saw him allegedly banned from a Miami Beach golf course.

US media are reporting that Jordan was wearing cargo shorts at the La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach, Florida.

The club’s dress code states "[a] collared shirt and golf shorts or pants, no cargo or denim. If there are pockets on the outside, it's not allowed.”

Apparently other members of the club complained he was wearing cargo shorts rather than Bermuda shorts and a club official asked him to change, which he refused, thus sparking the ban.

The New York Post, quoted a spokesperson for Jordan as saying: "Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants. He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code.

"This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and, at that point, he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it's their loss - as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest."
