Dear Sir,

I am writing to correct a statement which was made in the Bermuda Sun on July 4, 2008, page 5 to be specific.

It appears that a Mr. Raymond Rochester made a comment which requires correction. First of all, John Swan never rode around Bermuda while he was Premier in a Mercedes Benz. This is an urban myth or the beginnings of one, which is totally false!

The other comment is that "the UBP never did any good when they were in power".

Well I am not sure what exactly he means by the comment.

Does Mr. Rochester think that all the prosperity that Bermuda has for the last 35 or so years, magically appeared in the last 10 years? Without belabouring the point, there was a plenty of "good" done by the UBP during its days as the government and to deny the good things they accomplished is wrong and insulting to the men and women of the UBP.
