MONDAY, OCTOBER 22: HLN news anchor Robin Meade was the talk of the day at the PGA Pro-Am after almost hitting a hole in one.

Meade has had just six golf lessons and has only been on a golf course three times before today.

She played along with Suzy Whaley, her golf instructor, Ted Bishop of the PGA, Ian Baker-Finch, TNT commentator and Andy Burrows, Grand Slam Chairman.

Everywhere she went, members of the crowd requested a photo with her and told her how much they enjoy watching her show.

Meade kept a smile on her face all day after hours of playing golf.

Speaking to the Bermuda Sun, she said: “I’m enjoying it. I’m pooped because this is my first time doing 18 holes. I was with the most incredible people.

“Whenever I would hit a rough shot, I had an immediate clinic because I had the teachers there.Of course the scenery was wonderful.”

She continued: “You know what’s really impressive is the people who come out and spend the day in the sun and cheer everybody on.”

Whaley added: “This island is the most friendly island.”
Asked what she’s enjoying about Bermuda so far, Meade said: “I am going to have to say the golf course and this experience. It’s so special.”

As for what she has to say to her fans in Bermuda, Meade said: “I am so surprised at how many viewers we have here. I am delighted at that. I am really grateful at the shout-outs or morning sunshine.

“When I go back on the air, I will be thinking about the people I have met here.”

Meade will be in Bermuda for the rest of the week.
