Perozzi is the champ
Whatever the respective merits of the WIBC and promoter Boxu Pott's arguments it's got nothing to do with the fighter. Finance and administration should not be Perozzi's concern. She is a boxer, and a damn good one. End of story.
Her job was to fight and to win. She did it emphatically.
Perozzi sweated blood to make the weight for this fight and by all accounts she destroyed Scroller Carrington, one of the world's top ranked female boxers, in the ring. Her sporting achievement is unquestionable. It is just a shame that would should have been a glorious achievment for Perozzi and for Bermuda is now in danger of being overshadowed by an unseemly squabble.
Nothing ever seems to happen in boxing without controversy. But the fighter should not suffer for the organizational mess the WIBC and the promoters have got themselves into.
These two bodies need to sort out this dispute and let Teresa get on with what she does best - fighting.
Let's hope the Boxing authorities clear up this dispute and Teresa can go on to bigger and better things. n[[In-content Ad]]
