THURSDAY, DEC. 27: The Bermuda Youth Tourism Board (YTB) will host a student reception tomorrow (Friday) to promote spring break on the island.

The reception is in conjunction with the Bermuda Department of Tourism and will be held at 6:30pm at the Docksiders Pub with music from DJ Keem.

A press statement said the reception will be an informational session for college students that will offer insight about the Youth Ambassador Programme, 2013 Spring Break events and Incentive programme.

Daniel Reece, chairman of the YTB, said: “The YTB, as well as the Bermuda board, recognize that in order for the National Tourism Plan to be successfully implemented, support must be sourced from all stakeholders involved, especially the community at large.

“The members and I are excited and ready to work.

“We want to be a conduit for young people and the community in general to present ideas regarding our tourism product.

“This Spring Break Launch, Student Reception is just one of many projects we hope to develop.”

Maxwell Burgess, chairman of the Bermuda Tourism Board: said: “The Youth Board was formed to obtain the perspective of our young people.

“They know the audience better than any of us and more importantly, they know how to communicate with them.

“I am very pleased that the Youth Board has taken the initiative to host this event, in conjunction with BDOT, as a means to further promote the BDOT Spring Break Programme.

“I am confident that it will be a success.”

There will be complimentary refreshments and special giveaways for everyone.
