Duo deny money laundering

A man and woman appeared in court this morning on charges relating to money laundering.

Darnell Pinkney, 39, pleaded not guilty to having in his possession the controlled drug cannabis with intent to supply on May 29, 2012 in Sandys.

He also denied having $114,914 in his possession on the same date, which was the proceeds of crime.

His co-accused, Edwina Joell, 31, denied assisting with another to retain the proceeds of crime, $114,914.

The matter was adjourned for trial on September 16.

Both defendants were given $20,000 bail each with one surety.
