A Sandy’s parish man today denied possession of a rifle.
Richard Gibbons Jr, 28,appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, a rifle in Sandy’s.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The court head Mr Gibbons allegedly got into an argument with a man outside of his home.
The man is said to have left but then saw the defendant holding a rifle or musket.
Police arrived and seized the weapon, which was said to be in poor condition.
Mr Gibbons was given $5,000 bail with one surety and will face trial in May.
