Father denies slapping ten-year-old boy

A 23-year-old father today appeared in Magistrates’ Court where he denied slapping a ten-year-old boy.

Caleb Young pleaded not guilty to assaulting the boy on May 12 and causing him bodily harm.

The court heard he approached the victim at the school he attends and slapped him across the face.

Mr Young claimed the boy had an altercation with his daughter.

The matter was adjourned for trial on July 16 and Mr Young was given $2,000 bail with one surety.

He was also ordered to stay away from the school.
