Mother denies handling stolen jewellery
A 24-year-old mother appeared in court today and denied receiving almost $5,000 worth of stolen gold jewellery
Chanel Smith pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to dishonestly receiving $4,600 worth of stolen gold jewellery belonging to Clifford and Jessica Wade between April 4 and April.
In a separate information, she also denied dishonestly receiving $265 worth of gold jewellery on April 4.
Both matters were adjourned for trial on July 29 when Ms Smith will appear on other similar matters.
The defendant was given$2,000 bail with one surety.
