People have starting switching to CellOne’s home Internet package after the company announced it could offer the service on Monday.
Joel Ferrier, marketing director, told the Bermuda Sun: “There has been great interest. Lots of people are excited. We’re finally being able to bundle our products and it’s creating quite a buzz. Our customers are pretty loyal and they will get the same customer service that they’ve had with us for years for their home Internet service.”
Internet subscribers will be able to choose from speeds starting at 2 Mbps up to 25 Mbps — all being offered with one month free and no contract.
For existing CellOne customers, bundling the home Internet service with any postpaid mobile service provides savings of $140 to $645 in the first year. Ferrier added: “There is a ton of value, especially with the bundle. We have the lowest rates on the island.
“We also have a pretty interesting offer in which people can double their data for smartphone customers”
“It’s an exciting time for us to be providing home internet service to the people of Bermuda. Our competitive pricing and award winning customer service will now be extended into these new ISP offerings.” says Frank Amaral, CellOne CEO.
“Our customers will see an immediate savings when pairing their current postpaid service with our new ISP plans. We know customers will enjoy the benefits of getting multiple telecommunication services with one company.”
CellOne customers subscribing to a postpaid smartphone service have access to an exclusive bonus offer – adding an additional 1GB of data for only $15.

I’ve never had internet service before and would like to sign up with CellOne. What will I need?
Welcome! Please ensure that you have an active account with an access provider, i.e. Cablevision or BTC.
If you already have a router, bring it along to our Church St. location so we can reset it with our home internet service settings.
What is the difference between an ‘access provider’ and an ‘internet service provider’ (ISP)?
The ‘access provider’ physically equips your home to receive home internet service. An ‘internet service provider’ delivers the internet service through that equipment.
What is the difference between a modem and a router?
Modems are provided by the access provider. A modem takes the access provider’s internet signal and converts it to be read by the computer.
A router splits the signal to be read wirelessly. For example via Wi-Fi.
I would like to change my home internet service provider to CellOne, will I need to notify my access provider?
It’s not necessary to contact your access provider. We’re happy to reset your existing router to accompany our home internet service.
What type of equipment will I need for CellOne’s home internet service?
If you currently subscribe to home internet with BTC or Cablevision you already taken care of the first step which requires a modem. These modems are compatible with CellOne’s home internet service.
If you already use Wi-Fi as part of your internet service, that’s great news - you have a router which we will gladly reset for you in our Church St. location or by dialing 700.7000 to speak with our 24/7 Customer Care Centre.
How do I know if I need a router?
If you would like to use Wi-Fi with your internet service, a router is required. CellOne offers the TP-Link router which can be purchased in store. Once purchased, we’ll gladly set up the new or currently owned router at our Church St. location or by dialing 700.7000 to speak with our 24/7 Customer Care Centre.
I have an EasyConnect modem on my CellOne account and would like to sign up for the new home Internet service. What will I need?
Your existing EasyConnect modem is compatible with our home internet service. If you are interested in using Wi-Fi with your EasyConnect, a router will be required and one of our reps will be happy to program it with our settings. Simply visit one of our 3 retail locations to activate!
I don’t need Wi-Fi, I already have a modem. What will I need to do next?
All activations on our new home internet service take place in one of our three store locations island-wide. Once activated, we kindly ask you to call our 24/7 Customer Care Centre by dialling 700-7000. This should be done from the location where your internet will be used. At that time, we’ll guide you through the simple steps to complete your new internet setup.
How do I know if I need a wireless range extender?
Range extenders boost the wireless signal from the router. Your proximity to the router can affect Internet speed and signal strength. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak in a particular area at your location, a wireless range extender may be the answer to amplify it. Please be advised that in order to set up a wireless range extender, the range extender and router must be stationed together.
Do you have any recommendations for the care of my home internet equipment?
We strongly recommend that your equipment is plugged into a surge protector to minimize any damage that may result from a power surge.
What type of home Internet plans do you offer?
CellOne is proud to offer a range of plans that can be found here. Our Retail store representatives are able to suggest plans best suited to your current or anticipated internet activity.
How do I change my home internet plan?
It’s easy. Call our 24/7 Customer Care Centre by dialling 700-7000 or visit any retail store location. It’s recommended to review your access speeds to ensure you’re getting the most out of the internet speeds being received from your internet service provider.
If I have an e-mail address with my existing ISP service, will I need to set up a new e-mail address with CellOne?
Setting up a new CellOne email address is optional. If you currently have an e-mail address with another internet service provider, we recommend contacting them directly for their e-mail policy details.
How do I access my cell1.bm email account?
Simply visit www.webmail.cell1.bm and click ‘E-mail Access’.
Will I have to sign a contract for my internet service?
We ask that you sign an agreement for service to be provided by CellOne; however CellOne home internet customers are not bound to any specific contract length.
If I need additional help with my internet service, who can I contact?
We’ve got you covered 24/7. Contact our Customer Care Centre by dialing 700-7000 any time of day or night.
