Good news… apparently we no longer have to wait for significant ‘life events’ to celebrate with a glass of champagne. Gosling’s has brought Moët and Chandon’s Moët Ice Imperial, launched in 2011, to the island and it’s designed to be enjoyed on any sunshiny occasion. What’s more, this is a champagne like no other in that it is designed to be served on ice. Some might scoff — ‘doesn’t ice mess with the delicate aromas?’ Not in this case according to its creator Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez: “A champagne has been created especially to be served on ice, the perfect complement for spontaneous moments of celebration with friends on a sunny day.”

The Moët Imperial Ice is available for $63.25 at Gosling’s stores.With hints of tropical fruits it uses a proportion of Chardonnay grapes. It can be complemented by fresh ingredients — recommended is a sprig of mint, a zest of lime or white grapefruit, or a few cardamom seeds. Perhaps it might pair well with a nice lobster dish too.
