Earlier today the Premier and Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Dunkley, JP, MP, recognised five Corrections Officers who were promoted to the ranks of Assistant Commissioner and Chief Officers.
The promotions are effective June 1st.
The appointments include Assistant Commissioner of Corrections Kenneth Cann, and Chief Officer Shaun Bailey, Chief Officer Darynda Caisey-Brown, Chief Officer Phillip Downie, and Chief Officer Reginald Gomes.
Today the Premier said, “It is a pleasure to be here to recognise the accomplishment of these individuals. I certainly subscribe to the saying that we’re only as strong as the team around us. So I am delighted to see the strength of the officers here today. We have a lot of work ahead of us and we must perform at a level as we never have before. These six officers being recognised today bring a level of leadership and discipline to the service, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them for their dedication.”
The Commissioner of Corrections, Lt. Col. Edward Lamb added, “This was a very lengthy and rigorous promotion process, and I have every faith and confidence that these officers will execute their duties to the best of their ability.”
