Pairs set for final showdown
Martin Siese and Peter Bromby, and Karl Wilson and John Burns have secured a spot in snooker’s Bermuda Open Doubles finals.
Siese/Bromby defeated Wally Tucker and Andre Burgess 2-0, while Wilson/Burns saw off the team of Tony DeSilva and Ray DeSilva 2-0 to advance to the finals. The final is scheduled tonight at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club starting at 7pm. The format is best two out of three games.
In the Bermuda Open Singles, Steven Bremar defeated Joseph Hayward in the first semi final at Sandy’s Boat Club to advance to the finals of the Bermuda Open Singles Championship.
Bremar convincingly won three straight games of 49-13, 49-14 and 49-1.
Bremar also recorded a break of 27 in the second game.
In the second semi-final match played at Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, Karl Wilson and Peter Bromby went to five games before Wilson eventually came out on top.
In a race to three games, Wilson won the first 57-31, however Bromby battled back to claim the second 46-26.
The third game saw Wilson win 61-36 and Bromby tied up the games by winning the fourth 56-33.
In the final game Wilson would record an early break of 38 to win the game 75-25.
The finals are scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at Sandys Boat Club starting at 7pm. The format is a race to four games.
The Bermuda Snooker Association prize presentation and dinner will be held at Warwick Workman’s Club Hall on Saturday, April 27th at 7pm.
