Two of Bermuda’s top junior riders are in Wellington, Florida preparing for the FEI Group IV Challenge.
Riley Correia and Khaleb Tota will take on riders from Barbados, Cayman, Jamaica, Trinidad, Canada, and the USA this weekend.
Just two riders from each country have been selected and they will be riding on borrowed horses supplied by the USA and Canadian riders as well as the show organizers.
Riley and Khaleb Tota, both 15, were selected based upon recent excellent results both locally and overseas and took part in a warm-up competition yesterday to get used to their borrowed mounts.
They are being coached by well-known local rider Nick DeCosta, who is now spending some time in Florida.
This competition is a step up from the Caribbean Equestrian Association jumping competition in which Bermuda has participated for a number of years.
