Karl Wilson and John Burns are the Bermuda Open Doubles champions after roaring back from an early setback to win at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club.
The duo overcame a sturdy challenge from Peter Bromby and Martin Siese in the race-to-three encounter.
Despite Bromby still having “sea legs” after competing in a sailing event before the snooker match, he and his partner Siese won the first frame 60-32.
However, that would be the only one the pair would win as Wilson and Burns sailed to victory.
Wilson and Burns won the second frame 59-22 and while Bromby had a break of 32 in the third game, it was not enough as they were defeated 71-45.
Wilson and Burns closed out the match in the fourth game 57-42.
Meanwhile, a reminder to all that the Bermuda Snooker Association prize presentation and dinner will be held at Warwick Workman’s Club Hall on Saturday, April 27 at 7pm.
Tickets are $15 per person and all are welcome. Please contact any of the Committee members to reserve your tickets. RSVP by the end of today.
