Orchard impresses at Duathlon Worlds

Bermuda's Laurie Orchard has followed up her triathlon bronze at the Island Games with a strong showing at the ITU Duathlon World Championships in Ottawa.

Orchard came sixth in the 40-44 age group with an impressively-consistent display, finishing in 2hr 22min 45sec.

Orchard clocked 43:54 in her first run (5k) before moving up the field — fourth fastest — with a 1:11:22 bike section (20k). The Bermudian’s final run (2.5k) was tougher but her time of 25:11 was enough for her to hold on to sixth.
