FRIDAY, FEBURARY 1: This week I am in Bermuda to launch the Bermuda100.
I want share with you information on this initiative and take you through what Bermuda100 is all about.
I encourage you to drop by and visit our launch tomorrow as this is about building capacity to help empower our community and young people.
The Center for College & Career Readiness (CFCCR) and Bermuda’s Hope4Life would like to welcome you to the Bermuda100 Leadership Development Initiative aimed at preparing our youth for 21st century jobs.
We are pleased to welcome members of the education, social and sports community as well as our businesses who invest in educating our youth for the future jobs, social services agencies, and sporting organizations. The Bermuda100 is designed to create deep capacity within our community in support of Bermuda’s schools.
Made up of a 100 leaders from all walks of life, this initiative begins a one-year journey that will teach community leaders about the latest research barriers to student success, as well as discuss the primary role of the community in supporting young people and their work in schools.
By reaching out to young people, this enterprise will better prepare them for the demands of the 21st century workplace anywhere in the world.
Over the next year, the Bermuda100 will experience together:
• Breaking best-practices research on gangs, drugs, and barriers to Graduation and Employment.
• Priority setting to address critical learning needs including STEM-B, inquiry-based learning, and college and career readiness requirements.
• Action planning and joint presentations on community priorities, funding needs, and implementation strategies;
• Pragmatic, practical steps that business, parents, community organizations, schools and students can focus upon to begin immediate positive progress towards improved education for all students.
All business leaders, community organizations and school representatives for the Bermuda100 are strongly encouraged not to miss this initial planning meeting.
It will take place at Dellwood Middle School tomorrow between 10am to 12pm with sign in between 9am-10am.
