Guy DeSilva helps Spanish Point into first
Watford Sports Club (B) cruised past Sandys Boat Club (B) 6 – 0. Aaron Bean won his game against Chris Bromby 52-31. Keino Zuill won both games against Richard Beale 65-19 and 37-22. Tony Dawson defeated Aaron Carvelho 61-41. Dawson/Bean won their doubles game against Carvelho/Bromby 46-21.
Spanish Point Boat Club (B) moved into first place by defeating Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club 6 – 0. Scott Barnes won his game against Jon Pedro 46-15. Steve Holloway defeated Ross Spurling 56-35 and Guy DeSilva won both his games against Andrew Hanwell 59-24 and 61-23. Doubles partners Barnes/Holloway defeated Pedro/Spurling 48-27.
Warwick Workman’s Club (A) defeated Royal Artillery Association (A) 4 – 2. Timmy Sousa defeated Mike McGowan 55-25. Wally Tucker won both his games against Joe Hayward 47-24 and 46-32. Honky Burrows defeated Andre Burgess 68-15. Keith Smith/Sousa won the doubles game against McGowan/Burrows 63-41.
Spanish Point Boat Club (A) defeated Sandys Boat Club (A) 4 – 2. John “Bo” Bromby and Ed Gumbs had a very close game with Gumbs coming out the winner 46-43. Peter Bromby defeated Chris Dakin 78-31 and Stewart Greenslade won both his games against Stuart Matthews 69-58 and 71-31. Gumbs/Dakin defeated P. Bromby/J. Bromby 40-26 in the doubles game.
Stuart Matthews, Honky Burrows and Tony Dawson all shared high break of the night with 22.
